Loyal only to yourself !!
Hey beautiful people. Hope all has been well with you. My life lately has been a little hectic but still forward moving which I'll take. I had the pleasure of listening to this audiobook this morning during my workout and it made me realize a few things. So just a heads up This blog will be a little different from my typical blog content.
Probably should've done a video recording but I decided to write instead. 🤷🏿♀️ The audiobook I listened to was allegedly written by a deceased “celebrity” read by a young lady from LA.
One of the things mentioned in the audiobook was about her exes requirement of “loyalty”. Yet, the way it came across was truly sickening. The things people require but don't desire to give back fully are always interesting. It made me realize that some people are only loyal to your loyalty to them.
Yep. Read that again.
Some people are only loyal to your loyalty to them. They have no true desire to be loyal to you outside of their “use” of you ! They're truly blind sided by their wants only. They only see you as a tool to reach their goals or desires and nothing more. Never considering the true effects of how what they want impacts you or what you want for your life.
The audiobook I listened to made me realize that a non famous life truly isn't that bad. Some of the things mentioned in that book that they considered to be a “loyal act” is quite ridiculous. Quite sad honestly to realize how dark someone will go at the expense of someone else.
I love that the writer chose to be open with the details of her life. Especially details that are that traumatic. Love that she was open to admit her own openness concerning her sexual side. But a part of me cringed on the inside hearing the details of what was taking place in such a sacred time in her life as a woman. During her pregnancy.
I dont think there is anything wrong with loving yourself. But I do genuinely believe requiring loyalty from a person who you have no love for…. Just “use of” is crazy. Demented even. Especially when you're quick to destroy them once they deny you access.
Her story needs to be heard. Whether it's fiction or fact. There are many lessons in what was shared. Loyalty that requires you to be used with no genuine reciprocation isn't love. It's control. It's a form of possession. The audiobook is a warning for all women and men. That loving yourself isn’t selfish. Choosing YOU is important. And everything that glitters isn't true gold. Some of it is just a dark illusion.
The audiobook also highlights the traps of loyalty to the wrong person. That sometimes those society holds highly are truly fighting or willingly engaging in a twisted system with only dark trap doors. It's not always bad being left out. Dont let others glamorize darkness and tell you it's light. There was nothing “lite” about what she went thru.
Anywho, love ya. Later.
Shya 😔
