Dangers of Being a “Good Thing”

Heyyyyyyyy, Beautiful people and others! How are y’all doing? I hope amazing. Of course. It’s been a loooongg time. Long time since I’ve graced this blog. Life has been something else. But there is so much more of it to live. So, let’s live it!

These past few months for me have been a little everywhere in the most interesting way. One of the things that has stood out to me in these past few weeks has been the shocking realization that being a “good thing” can be dangerous in the wrong hands. Now considering how my life has panned out; you would think that I had learned that lesson already. Maybe I have just not in the way I have in this season. There is something very interesting about witnessing a person scheme and plot on a person that has a good heart or good intent.

So many people lead with masks. Afraid to be their naked self. Yet, when they encounter someone who has no issue being themselves despite the hardships, lack, losses or whatever they deem as less than they instantly want to misuse and abuse them because they think they would benefit from it in some sick way. They rather get the “image boost” from doing wrong to someone good. Versus getting the praises from God for being righteous when it is so easy to be wicked.

When you consider the situation with Joseph and Potiphar’s wife. Potiphar’s wife literally setup Joseph at the peak of his career. The bible says that “Joseph was a goodly person and well favoured.” (Gen 39:6) Meaning that Joseph was equipped with blessings due to the favor on his life. He had “things” that man couldn’t easily see but that followed him because of the favor on his life. There is a song by Phil Thompson that I have been enjoying lately called Constant Mercies that talks about favor following behind him much like favor did with many of those God used greatly.

It's amazing what people will do just to say that know you or have a “connection” with you. It's even more wild to realize the lengths people are willing to go through when you reject their plans for your life. None the less. God’s plan for us should be greater than the plots and schemes others have for us.

I know personally I've stumbled at times in this area. Yet, the lesson I took away from it. Was to stay God's course despite the persecution you may endure. You'll come out greater in the end of things. No matter the temporary “comfort” you may lose. Joseph took a loss but came out triumphant in the end despite what he had to go thru.

Stay dangerous. Most importantly stay vigilant. There are people who wish to set you up for their pleasure despite what it cost you.
