A Shared Reflection 🪞 ALL ELSE ASIDE.....
I knew I wasn't “like them” because I never did “fit in”. I've always stood out for one reason or the other. There were too many things that just didn't make sense to me that people in my peer group or in the world chose to do.
Don't get me wrong. I've done a few things myself. Some at one point I was ashamed of. Now, I can see the full picture surrounding those things I'm not ashamed. Just disappointed some things were my experience.
The more I read the word I can fully see why I'm not “like them” is because I'm more like those in the word that came before me. I read the word and it's like my life jumping out before me. How many of you can see that for yourself?
There are so many figures in the Bible who I can relate to for different reasons. So many situations I can see in our world today. As much as I can't stand certain things. I can also see that even the unbelievers desire to “believe”. Much like some of those in the word.
I've been sitting with something and it made me realize that people struggle with faith because God has been so lenient with us. How many times has an adult figure in your life given you grace instead of punishment you rightfully deserved?! How did that shift your perception of that parental figure?
Did it make you continue to do your wrongs? Or did it make you want to get in order and quit the foolishness?! Whatever your answer……..exactly!!
God's grace is a beautiful thing. But just as his word says “spare the rod, spoil the child" (Prov 13:24). When we give too many chances to get right usually things stay wrong. People continue to take you for granted. They believe they can just do you anyhow. Punishment is a necessary correction! (Use with discernment 😮💨😁 times are tough I def needed to add that. Some of y'all probably ready to march at dawn right now 😁🥴. Calm down grasshoppers)
There has been something that one of y'all favorite artist said awhile ago that has always sat with me. I've been trying to figure out what they meant low-key for awhile. But I think I get it now. Many people who go their own way do so because they're more “like them” than they realize also. More like Esau's lineage.
Esau didn't mind snaking someone including his own brother to get what he wanted. His lineage turned to idols because they fell in love with immediate action over long suffering. Esau was okay with “acting” to get what he wanted. Yet, he set his lineage up to have smoke with Jacob's lineage forever.
“The good vs evil” trope.
Esau fell in love with taking things into his own hands. Esau knew that even though he chose to do so there was STILL something bigger than him he needed to serve. He had faith. Just misconstrued. Think about it.
Esau wanted to believe. What person “takes something into their own hands” just to build a God with those same hands they turn around and worship?! Someone who wants to believe. Esau was stubborn. As was and is his lineage. We think that all of Esau's lineage is white. Yet, how many of you melinated mothers have had black babies that came out looking much like the description of Esau?! Be honest.
Some of the very same people that “look like us, talk like us, walk like us” are Esau's kids.
They're the very same ones that always got beef with people who not even thinking about them for real. Yet, they're the main ones mad about somebody else's destined blessings. Don't act like someone didn't come to mind when I said that! I'm sure you thought of at least one person you know. We can see it in the world so rapidly today!
There are people who hate others for no reason. They just walk around in a facade being hateful. Looking like money, might even smell like money, might walk like money, might talk like money. 😮💨🥴😂 Listen, I told you I've done a few things. Don't judge me for sliding that in there. It was fitting 😁. We're all inspired by something right?! Hahahah that just came to me. Could be a connection who knows 🤷🏿♀️🥴🤭🤭.
Esau wants to believe. He just wanted to see the actions expeditiously. So he built altars to worship his own image. The beast within him.
When you think of how the God of Esau is described. Isn't it some type of beast?! Isn't it always charging at something or someone. (Yes, we know they agitate the bulls. Calm down.) It lives in trickery. Deception. Lust. Perversion.
Yet, when we study the word about God especially in the new testament the main thing people want to mention is how he's a God of grace. Don't get it twisted God has some ways about him also. Please don't get it twisted. But most people gravitate towards him because he's a God of grace. People want to know it's going to be okay if they made a mistake ten times.
They want to know that they can go out in the world and get things jacked up. Come back and there will still be open arms to catch you. How many of you have applied that same grace in relationships 😮💨😁?! Don't think I'm laughing at you. Trust me , I'm laughing at US 🤣‼️ I've been certified guilty of this. It doesn't work sweetheart. It doesn't work. 😮💨😁
I can now laugh at my pain because I've grown and am STILL growing. But it just doesn't work like that. Consequences are necessary! Sometimes they are the only thing that'll turn someone like Esau into a true believer. And others well they just don't want to get right. It's just truly that simple. They want the reward without the suffering. Which is crazy because that bad didn't go unnoticed. It's just racking up a debt of punishment.
Why do you think the Lord's prayer says “and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors?” That isn't just about money. You gone have to pay one way or the other. Them scales gone balance.
Even in the word, there are examples of the opposition believing in God. You see them fear the punishment that they know comes with certain leaders or judges God sends in the Earth. Certain battles. At times the opps would win other times God's people would take home the dub. The word says God got smoke with Esau's line forever ! Has that come back void 🧐👀??! Think about it.
Some of Esau's descendants know the Bible better than those who believe. It drips in their work. But if you're not paying attention you'll miss it. That's why we gotta stop feeding the beast!! Put that joker on a fast to expel them spirits. 😮💨 Esau is feeding on your energy !! Your emotions. Much like he played his brother because he was hungry. Took that man birthright for a one day meal. Played his own brother because he knew his appetite!
Isn't that something?!
What appetite haven't you submitted?! Why is it important to do so?! Because what you can't control……controls you. What you don't master has mastered you. Esau wants to believe we just have to give him something to believe in.
Y'all be safe. Be vigilant. Be ready. The Kingdom of God is STILL at hand.
