Light or Heavy Weights ?!

What's goodie beautiful people and others?! Welcome to May 🥳. It's still a little cold out on my side of the world. I hope y'all are still able to get some heat wherever you are. It's been a good little minute since I've been here. So much has taken place. So much has shifted. So much has been lifted. And I'm super grateful. I hope you've been feeling light and not heavy. Hopefully if you've been feeling a little pressure, confusion, or etc I pray your spirit is lifted soon.

I just wanted to slide in and remind you about God's love for you. I know there is so much going on in the world today which can add to the weight of things but how many of you know that God is a burden bearer?! 🙋🏿‍♀️ I know I do. I had the pleasure of reading Nehemiah 5:14-19 the other day and it blessed me. So I wanted to share that blessing with you. 💚

This section of scripture highlights how Nehemiah’s love for his people refused to allow him to be a burden to them. Typically, as Governor during that time, Nehemiah could have had an allowance of food, wine and money during his 12yr seat. Yet, he refused it because of his respect for God and his love for the people. He knew the weight of a burden this was on the people from the example his peers provided. So he chose to be and do differently.

How often do you appreciate the burdens others add to you?! How often do you appreciate the burdens others lift from you?! 👀

One of the joys I have when reading God's word is his many examples of what love is and how we can show it to others and ourselves. We know that God's love for us lifted the burden or “curse” of the law from us by sacrificing his life (Gal 3:13). The word also tells us that the burdens God gives are light not heavy (Matt 11:29-30). That God's intent for us is to be free not bound. To stand firm and to be not burdened by a yoke of slavery (Gal 5:1).

Love frees you. It lifts you up instead of trying to weigh you down. We can see that in God's example of love for us. If you're feeling heavy today ask yourself what are you carrying that's not yours?! 😶‍🌫️ Send it back to it's rightful owner!! Stand ten on that ‼️💃🏿 Another way you can get free is to simply take a moment and tell God “Thank You”. So often it's easy to get distracted or caught up in the day to day routine of “tackling today, to prep for tomorrow” that we forget to tell God “Thank you” for all the things he's carried for us that we don't see or take for granted.

I know, I know. There are things going on in high places trying to apply heavy weights on us. But one thing I do every so often is dance/sing if I'm feeling too juiced up. Gone and hit one of those dances like David & fool the enemy real quick. I bet you'll feel lighter AND I bet you'll give the devil a few good stumps on the head 😄. The light God has given us to shine is heavy weight. Pressure for the enemy….. But a glow for US!! Keep shining beautiful people. Summer will soon heat up!

Innerstand that God's love for you lifts your burdens. So walk in victory….. “light”. Floating like a 🦋 stinging like a 🐝. God already made you the true heavyweight.
