Broken Arrows / Shooting Blanks

There is so much wickedness in the world fighting to stay hidden, fighting to stay in secret motion. The interesting and beautiful part of all of it is that nothing can be hidden from God.

What's up good people and others?! Tis the season despite the changes going on. God's people continue to endure. Continue to go from strength to strength! 💪🏿 In Psalms 37:15, it states “Their sword shall enter into their own heart and their bow 🏹 shall be broken.”

Let me share the good news of what this means for the righteous. Those who wish to dig their swords into the hearts of God's people will reap what they sow! Sometimes at their own hand. There are quite a few scriptures that reveal the reward the wicked reap. Especially those that come against those that God is using. One example that stands out to me is the death of Judas.

In Matthew 27:4-5, it gives us a brief image of the moment Judas realizes he shed innocent blood (Jesus’). He realizes that the silver he received wasn't even worth it and he goes to take his own life. Takes himself out by suicide. Can you imagine going thru with everything that you pulled against someone that was innocent just to receive the exact fate you wanted for an innocent soul. It doesn't pay well to do evil.

The world wants to convince us that it does. Wants to convince us that greed, wickedness, lust of the flesh and betrayal reaps good gain. Yet, even if a person does gain temporarily from doing wickedness, it is only for a moment. Only for an hour. Wicked individuals are literally shooting blanks when it comes to prospering against God's people.

How much more should God's people be worried when we know that wickedness doesn't rule like it thinks it does? Look at the story of Haman. Who was briefly in a position of power, yet, he allowed his jealousy to rule him. He was so focused on destroying Mordecai that the contraption he came up with for Mordecai’s demise became the very trap he set for himself. (Est 7:9-10; Psalms 37:15; Psalms 7:15; Psalms 35:8) His hatred removed him from his position of authority straight into his own death.

Wickedness doesn't go unpunished even though it may seem that for awhile that it does.

When I was studying this text (Psalms 37:15) it gave me more clarity on why Jesus may have been able to tolerate Judas. Jesus was omniscient. Knowing all things. He knew his own ending; I'm a firm believer that he knew the ending of Judas as well. Mordecai knew that Haman disliked him yet he stayed the course despite the opposition. The wicked may rule for an hour but the Lord laughs at them because he knows their end is coming! (Psalms 37:13)

Stay strong good people. The bows of the wicked are breaking and their attacks are shooting blanks.

Love ya later. Stay vigilant. Stay prayed up.
